The Federation of Independent Retailers (NFRN) has welcomed the Daily Record's decision to increase its prices for its Monday-Friday edition and Saturday edition and maintain retail terms at 20 per cent.

NFRN welcomes Record price rise and pro rata terms

With effect from Monday November 23, 2020, the Daily Record Monday-Friday edition will increase by 5p to 90p. The retail profit per copy sold will increase to 18p.

The following weekend (Saturday November 28, 2020), the Daily Record Saturday edition will increase by 10p to £1.40. This will see the retail profit per copy sold increase to 28p, says the NFRN.

The news comes after NFRN National President Stuart Reddish recently met with a number of Reach editors and circulation chiefs to explore ways in which the organisations can work closer together.

NFRN National President Stuart Reddish said: “Now, more than ever, members need pro rata terms to rely on and Reach should be thanked for this move.

“The new prices for both papers will see increases in retail profit per copy sold for retailers.

“After meeting with Reach editors and circulation chiefs recently, this price rise and accompanying margin boost is evidence of our commitment to work closer together.”
