Oneshot: Our Heroes

A special one-off edition of Heroes, the official publication of Help For Heroes, is being produced to coincide with Armed Forces Day on 25 June and £1.50 of the cover price of the magazine will go to the Help For Heroes charity.

The oneshot goes on sale 22 June, cover priced £2.45.

According to distributors COMAG: “Working closely with the army, navy and RAF, Help For Heroes provides support for wounded members of the armed services who have been injured in conflict.

Help For Heroes is now a national charity with support across all levels of society, from royalty, politicians, celebrities, everyday people, all of whom have helped the charity raise £92.67m to date. Some of the key corporate supporters of Help For Heroes include The Sun, Vauxhall, Deloitte, B&Q, Topps Tiles and BAA Heathrow.

As well as messages of support from HRH Duke of Cambridge (Prince William) and Prime Minister David Cameron, Our Heroes will give the history of the charity, looking back at its creation, key milestones and successes, as well as focusing on Armed Forces Day, with an overview of the day, including a schedule of events.

Our Heroes will have features looking at individual cases of heroism, one called ‘Acts of Courage’ will have stories about battlefield valour written by leading Forces writers, while a section called ‘True Grit’, will look at cases of service personnel who have overcome various injuries and has stories of their courageous rehabilitation.

As well as this, Our Heroes will have pictures and interviews with service personnel, celebrity supporters, corporate partners, a look back at notable successes (‘Heroes’ concert, fundraising challenges etc) as well as ahead to what the charity has planned and details of how you can get involved with Help For Heroes.”
