Owain (pictured) is a well-known sports writer with a distinguished track record in rugby journalism on both sides of the Welsh border. For four years he wrote for, and edited, publications for the Welsh Rugby Union including their range of international match day programmes. More recently he edited publications for the British & Irish Lions and the IRB, notably for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Owain comes to Rugby World having spent a year as a successful multimedia journalist, during which time he has developed a strong focus on digital publishing and social media, and having contributed to both print and digital media through clients which include Haymarket, Future, ITV Sport, ESPNScrum.com and Eurosport.

He joins Rugby World at one of the most exciting and challenging times in its distinguished 51 year history, with the build-up to the Rugby World Cup coming to the UK in 2015. His appointment coincides with the rapid development of new, digital channels through which Rugby World can go on delivering the most intelligent and well-informed rugby journalism in the UK.
“Naturally, I’m very sorry to be losing such a distinguished editor as Paul Morgan, and I thank him for his fantastic achievements as editor for the last 12 years. His are big shoes to fill but I have no doubt that Owain is the man to do that.”
