PT SportSuite and KMTV this week announced a live streaming partnership that will combine technical solutions with broadcasting experience to offer a video OTT solution for sports organisations and mature customer service desk facilities in the UK.
KMTV, the first UK-based OTT and DAM client of PT SportSuite’s parent company, Publisher’s Toolbox, have built up a sizeable team of technicians and reporters over the years, who have helped shape PT’s feature development roadmap. KMTV’s knowledge of the suite of products and broadcasting industry makes this formal partnership all the more special, says PT SportSuite.
PT SportSuite accelerated its video OTT offering for sports organisations just as Covid-19 struck in 2020, to provide the sports market with a quality, cost effective AWS streaming alternative that would help with lockdown measures, and the rapid increase in demand.
PT SportSuite provides numerous video streaming solutions to UK-based clubs, and have multi-platform deals with Bristol Sport, British & Irish Lions and North America’s Major League Rugby to streamline media workflows, improve media collaboration and provide fan oriented web and mobile apps.
KMTV, part of the KM Media Group and University of Kent, is Kent’s first dedicated TV channel, broadcasting live and on-demand news and entertainment programming to the Kent community.
KMTV Creative Productions Director Andy Richards, a former ITV Sports editor, has been live streaming and broadcasting events, matches and conferences for more than a decade.
“KMTV and KMTV productions have worked really well with Publisher’s Toolbox for a number of years now, so we’re excited to form this partnership in an area where we have significant expertise,” says Richards. “We oversee thousands of hours of live streaming across the world every year and we’re ready to share our broadcasting experience to create and monetise robust and secure streams for national and international clients.”
The partnership is the next step in a working relationship that started five years ago, when Andy Richards met PT SportSuite CEO Rich Cheary and CTO Clinton Bosch at the 2016 MojoFest in Dublin, where PT’s MojoReporter platform was launched.
“The KMTV culture, ethos and team personalities are very much aligned to ours at PT SportSuite,” says Cheary. “They live by a similar ‘Dare to be Different’ principle and are comfortable challenging existing models.
“The investment into this partnership demonstrates our ability to rapidly scale in a sustainable manner, and ensure an increase in quality service, account management and customer support to our existing and future clients.”
