Rhapsody ramps up digital expertise

Rhapsody, the cross-publishing specialist, has further expanded its digital capabilities with a number of new senior appointments.

The expansion comes on the back of major digital projects from brands including Argos and Waitrose, and increased digital work from existing magazine publishers, says Rhapsody.

Jason Rainbird, who has previously worked with companies including Microsoft, William Grant & Sons and The Electoral Reform Society through his own independent UX consultancy, joins Rhapsody in the newly created post of Head of UX and Design. Further appointments in project management, design and technical development enhance Rhapsody’s expertise to plan, develop and execute digital strategies through to the technical delivery of responsive content, says the company.

John Rahim, Head of Digital, Rhapsody said: “Publishers are looking to ensure that their content can be delivered cross-platform across desktop and mobile devices. They are looking for ways to manage the process in an automated, streamlined workflow and ensuring that their content is delivered in an engaging manner irrespective of the device that is being used. We’ve built up significant credibility in the design of digital editions which migrate the print editions to new formats hence why we are winning new contracts specifically in the digital publishing area.”

Rhapsody will shortly unveil a new digital publishing solution to compliment the Emagine production workflow system. According to Rhapsody, Emagine has over 3000 users and enables publishers to produce content across print, tablet and mobile devices.
