Sir Martin Sorrell and Alan Rusbridger to speak at Shift 2014

Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP, and Alan Rusbridger, editor-in chief of Guardian News & Media, are the first speakers to be announced for Shift 2014, Newsworks’ second half-day conference for the national newspaper industry.

The invitation only event will take place on 10 April at the British Library.

Speakers will explore newsbrands' influence on events, behaviour and business success. The event will provide insights into the latest thinking and trends, as well as some predictions for the future.

Rufus Olins, chief executive, Newsworks, said: "Our industry has never faced so many choices, or had a bigger audience, and we’re delighted that two people who play such important roles in shaping its future will be at Shift 2014 to share their thoughts and perspectives."

Further additions to the Shift 2014 programme will be announced soon.
