The Sun on Sunday says Sophia joins them from HuffPost, where she is currently deputy political editor and has garnered a reputation for breaking agenda setting exclusives. She has spent four years in the lobby, previously working for The Evening Standard as a political correspondent. Before then she was an on the road news reporter.
Sophia says: “I’m super excited to get stuck in with the peerless teams at The Sun on Sunday and The Sun.
“After a rollercoaster few years covering four PMs, the biggest economic crisis in a generation and the rise and fall of Corbynism, I am hugely excited to sink my teeth into what comes next as we crank up our coverage ahead of the next general election.”
She will join the political team filing for both the The Sun on Sunday and The Sun, as well as thesun.co.uk, working with The Sun on Sunday's political editor Kate Ferguson and The Sun's political editor Harry Cole, added the publisher.
