Spectator runs special tribute to Thatcher

The 13 April issue of The Specator will feature a special 16-page commemorative tribute to Baroness Thatcher. The issue goes on sale 12 April, priced £3.50.

According to distributors COMAG Specialist: Often surprising and provocative, but always elegantly and humorously expressed, The Spectator has been providing challenging views for interesting people since 1828.

Now in its 185th year, The Spectator is the world’s longest continually published English language magazine and makes no apologies for being opinionated, because this means the magazine is never dull, which regular readers appreciate!

To mark this week’s passing of Baroness Thatcher, the 13 April issue of The Spectator will have a 16-page special commemorative tribute for readers.

Looking back at her appearances in the magazine, The Spectator is collating the best articles, features and pictures of Mrs. Thatcher from its archives to be a collectors’ issue.

A Member of Parliament from 1959 until she retired in 1992, Margaret Thatcher had a long political career: appointed Secretary of State for Education and Science in 1970, Leader of the Conservative Party in 1975 and Prime Minister from 1979 until she was ousted in 1990.

With contributions from former politicians, historians and journalists, including Charles Moore (who has written the official biography of Baroness Thatcher), this issue of the weekly magazine will be a keepsake for anyone with an interest in the iconic Iron Lady.
