Sunday Mirror introduces Notebook

Next weekend the Sunday Mirror will launch its new glossy magazine, Notebook, billed as ‘A Gorgeous Guide To Modern Living’.

With a strong emphasis on fashion and beauty, the magazine will focus on making the luxurious attainable. Everything featured will look gorgeous, but be affordable, wearable, accessible and do-able, say the publishers.

Notebook’s ethos comes from the idea that you'll want to rip out and keep something - or everything - on every page. Hence the strap line: ‘a lot of what you fancy’. From page one, there will be snippets of interest on anything from the latest health and beauty tips to the hottest film and celebrity stories, topical debate or interiors ideas.

The magazine will also be available as a standalone paid-for app as well as having its own dedicated Pinterest board.

Cheryl Cole graces the magazine’s first front cover and inside the star speaks exclusively about turning 30 and how she has earned her wrinkles.

Every page throughout Notebook, including reportage and real life features, will be relevant to readers’ lives, with solutions and helpful information provided alongside.

Radio One’s Sara Cox has been signed up to write a column providing her working mum’s view on the world while former Dragon Hilary Devey will offer advice as the magazine’s agony aunt.

Mel Brodie, editor of Notebook, said: “Notebook is a celebration of the everyday extraordinary woman and will provide her with all the information, however diverse, that will keep her in the know.

“If you like, we’re the Pinterest of print and we see Notebook as the must-have bible to modern day living. We’re the magazine that readers will want to take note of.”

Paula Scott, Trinity Mirror’s publishing director of the national titles, said: “We had ten great years with Celebs on Sunday however now is the right time for Notebook to take that success forward. Over the last couple of months the feedback we've had from both advertisers and readers has been incredibly positive.

“The hunger for weekly celebrity news is diminishing, so we are celebrating the everyday woman and applauding her for who she is. Notebook contains sassy, varied and informed editorial full of noteworthy ideas, and provides the perfect advertising environment for strong, relevant brands. Our new magazine combines strong reader engagement with fantastic reach, all wrapped up in a very stylish package.”
