Telegraph appoints Chief Digital Officer

Telegraph Media Group has announced the appointment of Christopher Thorogood to the newly created position of Chief Digital Officer.

Christopher joins from Global Radio, where he has been Director of Digital since 2011. Prior to this, he worked at Shine Group, as Acting Head of Digital and Mykindaplace as Business Development Director and Managing Director.

In this new role, Christopher will report directly to Murdoch MacLennan, Chief Executive, and will lead TMG's digital operations to ensure the business realises its full digital potential. Christopher will have responsibility for all our digital product development as well as overseeing marketing, consumer insight, data analytics, e-commerce and customer experience.

Murdoch MacLennan, Chief Executive, Telegraph Media Group, said: “I am delighted that Christopher will be joining TMG. He has had a wide variety of experience in launching and growing digital businesses and will be a welcome addition to TMG’s executive management team.”

Christopher Thorogood said: “TMG has a strong brand and some fantastic digital products. I am hugely looking forward to joining TMG and leading their digital operation to the next stage.”

Christopher’s start date will be announced in due course.
