Telegraph partners with Halifax for Google Currents campaign

Telegraph Media Group (TMG) has partnered with Halifax to create the first campaign on its Google Currents edition.

The deal, brokered by MEC, is also the first to use The Telegraph’s new integrated tablet proposition, which offers brands access to its growing iPad, Flipboard and Google Currents subscribers.

The partnership, which launched on 3rd June, and runs for one month, sees Halifax extend the reach of its Value campaign through a combination of credit card, mortgage and current account full-page interstitial advertisements that will run across all three platforms.

The magazine-style design offers readers high-speed and offline reading of Telegraph content and includes features such as quick-touch sharing. Google Currents also offers brands new audiences using mobile devices and the additional ability to track campaign performance using Google Analytics.

The Telegraph’s Google Currents edition continues TMG’s commitment to pioneering innovative opportunities for clients whilst generating new revenues through its extended mobile and tablet proposition.

Ryan Rummery, Head of Online Sales, TMG, said, “We are excited to have partnered with Halifax and MEC, for our first Google Currents campaign. This demonstrates The Telegraph’s continued commitment to providing high-reach, innovative and socially engaging advertising solutions.”

Mark Stubbs, Account Director, Display, MEC, said: “Connected devices are changing the way consumers view content. Applications like Google Currents are redefining the way we view quality editorial, and we will continue to work with The Telegraph to make sure our campaigns are front of mind with our audience and standout across all platforms.”
