Thompson Media Group signs new contract with Atex

Thompson Media Group LLC has signed an agreement with Atex to help it transform from a print-based to a digital content provider.

The US media company selected Atex Web CMS to provide online versions of its publications and improve editorial workflows.

Thompson Media Group is a Washington-based content provider that specializes in providing compliance, regulatory and market information. The company's model was based on providing printed content to its subscribers, and digital content had been provided as a post-production process handled by a third-party supplier. However, the group wanted to regain more control over its digital publishing and increase functionality and usability for its subscribers.

With six operating units comprising diverse content, it was important for Thompson to work with a flexible business partner. Atex provides the company with the robust publishing platform and expertise needed to assist with transforming its business into a contextually-driven content provider, thereby increasing value to subscribers. The group can reduce its manual processes by taking advantage of the system’s centralized management and information sharing capabilities, and make content available for publication on any digital device, says Atex.

Jay Brodsky, Chief Information Officer of Thompson Media Group, comments, “Following an extensive evaluation of the market, we selected Atex as our strategic partner. We were impressed with the company’s technical expertise as well as its global presence in the publishing industry, and believe that Atex Web CMS is the best solution for handling our current and future requirements and helping us to gain advantage in our market.”

Lars Jiborn, VP of Sales at Atex, comments, “This contract represents another step in the transition to digital; a trend which is rapidly growing in the media industry throughout the US. The deal also demonstrates the great opportunity for content management offered by our platform in the North American market, where we are already a leading provider of content management solutions.”
