UK launch: Elektro

Elektro, a US dance music magazine from Harris Publications, launches in the UK on 27 March, priced £3.99.

According to distributors COMAG: “The fastest growing genre on the globe, electronic dance music is having a resurgence and with mainstream America now fully onboard, the phenomenon is taking over the world.

Now that DJs can be found on magazine covers, Billboard charts, the radio and late night television shows, as well as regularly performing for hundreds of thousands of fans, the time is right for a magazine dedicated to the scene and the superstar DJs at the fore of it.

Aimed at men and women aged 18 to 34-years-old who are passionate about dance music, Elektro is for those people who live the lifestyle as well as listen to the tunes. The most dedicated fans dress in a certain way, have a similar outlook on life, are absorbed into the whole culture and follow their favourite DJs across the world.

These fans want to know about those who spin the records, wear the massive headphones and flip the crossfader to such dazzling effect and Elektro is the first dedicated magazine that these dance music enthusiasts can call their own.

Taking the reader to festivals around the world, from Las Vegas to Miami, New York to London, as well as Ibiza to Sydney, Elektro will literally cover the world of dance music.

Whether House music, Dubstep, Chillout, Techno or Trance, Elektro will have it all, with behind the scenes access to the best DJs in the world, exclusive interviews and photos. As well as featuring these modern heroes themselves, Elektro will have all the news, music reviews, along with the latest gigs and equipment from around the world of dance.

The Spring issue of Elektro has Dutch superstar DJ Tiësto on the cover and inside in an exclusive interview about his long career. The first DJ to have a solo concert in a stadium, Tiësto performed at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Athens Olympics and last year his ‘Club Life College Invasion’ tour was a massive sell-out success across America.”
