Vibrant appoints Chief Revenue Officer

Vibrant Media, a leader in premium contextual advertising, has announced the appointment of Sheila Buckley as Chief Revenue Officer, a newly created global position.

Buckley (pictured) joins the growing company as it continues to expand its geographic reach and portfolio of contextual ad solutions. In January, Vibrant announced the acquisition of Image Space Media, firmly establishing the company at the forefront of the in-image advertising space.

Buckley brings more than two decades of senior advertising sales leadership to Vibrant. In her previous role as Senior Vice President, Digital, Mobile and Cross-Platform Ad Sales at The Weather Channel, she led a sales force of 70-plus people for a top-15 US website with more than 63 million unique visitors.

“We are delighted to have Sheila join Vibrant. She has a stellar reputation as an innovator and leader in digital media,” says Cella Irvine, CEO of Vibrant Media. “We are a growing company in a rapidly evolving space at the intersection of media, technology and brands. Sheila’s accomplishments in those same areas make her an ideal fit to help lead Vibrant globally into a new era and new opportunities.”

“I am privileged to join Vibrant and excited by the opportunity to work with a strong worldwide sales team. The digital and media industries are seeing profound changes, and top advertisers are looking to partners for strategies that perform,” says Buckley. “Vibrant – with innovative solutions such as in-text and in-image – is at the forefront of the industry, driving innovation and meaningful engagement for brands, publishers and consumers across new technologies. I look forward to pushing forward as we move into new areas and platforms, in mobile and beyond.”

Prior to The Weather Channel, Buckley held a range of high-level positions at Time Warner, including associate publisher and publisher at Sports Illustrated and Sports Illustrated for Kids, where she was responsible for advertising sales, marketing, and research for the publications, websites, and custom publishing.

Buckley will be based at Vibrant’s headquarters in New York. She received her BSc from the School of Management at Boston College.
