Vogue Paris reaches 1 million Twitter followers

On September 4, 2008, Vogue Paris’ online publication tweeted for the first time, launching the site into one of the most enriching digital adventures to date. Last week, @VogueParis reached over 1 million followers.

To thank followers and fans who have supported the account, Vogue.fr created a micro site detailing @VogueParis' digital history through images, videos and music from its launch to the present day. The site which launched in French last week is now available in English.

"Vogue Paris' Twitter page is one of the most influential in France. We want to express our deepest gratitude to all of our followers. #Storyof1million is a unique digital narrative with over 400 elements, created entirely by the editorial staff to celebrate the site's most exciting and pivotal moments yet" explains Sarah Herz, director of Condé Nast France's digital operations.

From the front row and backstage at Fashion Week’s biggest shows, say the publishers, Vogue Paris was one of the first to tweet live in both French and English, bringing the latest fashion news to followers throughout the world, all in under 140 characters.

Fashion fans are given behind-the-scenes access with the Vogue editorial team, through exclusive interviews with top models, designers and photographers; @VogueParis claims to be at the forefront of everything fashion.
