Wallpaper* has announced Bill Prince as its new editor in chief. With a distinguished career in magazine publishing that started at NME and includes over two decades as deputy editor of British GQ, Wallpaper* says Bill’s experience makes him the ideal choice to take up the role of editor in chief of the title.

Further enriching Wallpaper*’s position as one of the world’s leading authorities on design additional appointments announced today include Jason Hughes as fashion and creative director, with Rosa Bertoli assuming the role of global design director and Ellie Stathaki takes up the newly created architecture & environment director position.

Joining the team as director of digital content is Charlotte Gunn. With over 15 years experience in journalism, Charlotte helped to pioneer the digital transformation for NME and founded the independently-run online music publication, The Forty-Five.

Wallpaper* says these new appointments herald a further development of its ecosystem as both an editorial platform encompassing print, digital, live events and e-commerce, and a thriving creative agency via its Bespoke division.

Bill Prince, editor in chief, Wallpaper*

Bill has a distinguished career in magazine publishing, starting at the NME followed by a move to Q magazine. Bill then spent two decades as deputy editor of British GQ. Most recently, Bill served as acting editor of wallpaper* and launch editor of The Blend, where he remains editor in chief.

Jason Hughes, fashion & creative director, Wallpaper*

Jason joined Wallpaper* in 2016 as Fashion Editor before progressing to his current role in 2019. Jason oversees fashion, beauty & grooming and jewellery content for the print and online editions, alongside special editorial and commercial projects.

Rosa Bertoli, global design director, Wallpaper*

In 2014, Rosa joined as Design Editor of Wallpaper*, overseeing design content for the print and online editions and special editorial projects. In addition to her role at Wallpaper*, Rosa frequently speaks at design talks and conferences, including London Craft Week, Maison & Objet, The Italian Cultural Institute, and Frieze Art Fair. Rosa has been on judging panels for the Chart Architecture Award, the Dutch Design Awards and the DesignGuild Marks.

Ellie Stathaki, architecture & environment director, Wallpaper*

Ellie has been a member of the Wallpaper* team since 2006, visiting buildings across the globe and interviewing leading architects such as Tadao Ando and Rem Koolhaas. Ellie has taken part in judging panels, moderated events, curated shows and contributed to books, including The Contemporary House (Thames & Hudson, 2018) and Glenn Sestig Architecture Diary (2020).

Charlotte Gunn, director of digital content, Wallpaper*

Charlotte Gunn is a writer and editor with over 15 years experience in journalism, audience growth and content strategy. Formerly the Editor of NME, Charlotte pioneered the brand's digital transformation, building an audience of 20 million engaged, global music fans. In 2020, Charlotte founded the independently run, online music publication The Forty-Five, focused on championing female artists. Charlotte’s writing has been published in NME, Rolling Stone, The Face and CN Traveller, she is a regular critic on Times Radio and the BBC, and she sits on the judging panel for the annual BRIT Awards.
