Web first for new-look magazines brand

Following on from the rebranding last month of Archant London’s 16 local luxury magazines under the Resident banner, a first new website has been launched for the SW Resident title.

www.swresident.co.uk was built in consultation with magazine readers and contributors and the new site features a clear, easy-to-navigate structure that is complimented by a fresh new design, says Archant.

Vicky Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Archant London’s magazine portfolio said: “The new site is designed to cater for residents of SW London; we’re very proud of it, and we’re confident our readers will like it.

“We’re using digital platforms to build on and compliment the glossy print title, giving readers and advertisers alike the chance to engage with the brand in new ways, not just through the website but also on Twitter & Facebook.

“This is our first significant digital development of our new re-invigorated ‘Resident’ brand and we have lots more exciting changes planned in the next few months,” said Vicky.

Paul Hood, Digital Director for Archant London, added: “The quality of our London magazine portfolio is of such a high standard that we needed to upgrade our digital presence to do it justice. We’ve built the site to showcase the fantastic content that the editorial team produce and to allow our readers to interact with it, the writers and other readers. Feedback about the new site from readers and advertisers during our beta phase has been extremely positive, so we’re confident that we’re on the right track.”

Aside from content and features from the magazine, the new site is putting a lot of emphasis on community engagement. Readers are encouraged to participate in the content and with each other via on-page commenting, within the thriving Twitter community (4,300 followers) and also on www.streetlife.com, the local social network that facilitates conversations and relationships at a hyperlocal level.
