Xbox World redesigned

Future has announced an extensive refresh of its unofficial Xbox magazine, Xbox World.

Xbox World’s cover-disc has been completely rebooted to include an exclusive monthly gaming show, Xbox World TV, featuring an hour of extra content presented by the experts behind the magazine.

Reflecting the brand new structure of the print edition, the double-sided disc takes gamers through the key games of the month in “Day One”, interviews with the biggest names from the industry, trailers and reviews featuring real footage from game play. On the reverse-side of the disc viewers can find HD trailers, the Xbox World podcast and downloadable wallpapers.

The magazine redesign is brought to life with the integration of QR codes scattered throughout. Readers scan the codes using the Xbox World app on their smartphone to access related content and exclusive video from the world of Xbox.

Editor Tim Weaver says: “Xbox World’s fantastic new cover disc reflects the magazine’s sharp new-look and cleaner structure. The fresh format of the mag and Xbox World TV fulfils the needs of today’s gamers who want to get the most out of their console and the games that they buy. Like us, they see video gaming as the most innovative form of entertainment around and crave expert knowledge and advice on how to get the best value out of their game-time. Xbox World really is the key to smarter Xbox gaming.”

The refresh issue also features a split cover-run with two Saints Row: The Third designs to collect inside a die-cut card wallet.

Inside the magazine, readers will discover the world’s first hands-on with Saints Row: The Third, an exclusive look at Far Cry 3 and the story of two gamers who spent seven years trying to pull off one trick in Halo: Combat Evolved. There is also a new “Upgrade” section with guides on how to find hidden game content.

Associate Publisher Stuart Galbraith says: “We believe that Xbox World is the greatest unofficial Xbox brand in the market. The new sections have been created with both consumers and advertisers in mind and are much more accessible and current. The extra content that the magazine offers through the cover-disc and QR codes, plus the unrivalled industry knowledge of our experts, makes Xbox World the best value independent title in the market.”

The redesigned issue of Xbox World hits newsstands on 1st September priced at £4.99.
