Agency Presses Ahead With Expansion Plans

Specialist marketing, PR and media consultancy, Press Ahead, is cementing its reputation as a leading player in the North East communications sector, with the launch of an in-house creative division and the further expansion of its dedicated research team.

The Sunderland based agency has kicked off 2012 with the appointment of Press Ahead Creative director Kieron Goldsborough who boasts 15 years of industry experience.

Prior to setting up Press Ahead Creative, Kieron spent six years in design and management roles within Trinity Mirror North East, most recently as creative manager responsible for a team of eight designers based in Newcastle and Teesside. Before joining the publishing group in 2005, Kieron spent three years at Evening Gazette owned Bridge Design after launching his career as an in-house creative at Darlington based pensions management firm RPMI in 1997.

Kieron’s design expertise spans the full creative spectrum and includes corporate identity, website design, email marketing, promotional materials and advertising. Over the coming months he plans to capitalise on a wealth of knowledge of both the private and public sector, working on a variety of creative projects for existing and new Press Ahead clients including Prince Bishops Shopping Centre, SSI UK, The Durham Bid and Cornmill Shopping Centre.

Kieron commented: “I’m really pleased to have joined the Press Ahead team at this exciting time and am looking forward to utilising my public and private sector experience to support the business as it forges ahead with growth plans. I’ll be looking to develop relationships with Press Ahead’s existing client base as well as attracting new clients who can benefit from a fully integrated marketing service.”

In addition, the agency is also set to deliver a wide range of high profile research projects, after strengthening its team during 2011 with the appointment of experienced research and strategy projects manager Aiden Regan.

Since joining Press Ahead last year, Aiden has already delivered major research projects on behalf of a wide range of regional and national businesses and organisations such as Iliffe News and Media, the food and drink skills council Improve and the North East Enterprise Bond. He is now leading on a number of new projects for 2012, including a major customer insight project for Newsquest Media Sales (NMS). The work is designed to provide NMS with qualitative information that will enable them to define and understand regional audiences more effectively in terms distinct reader profiles, creating a new point of reference for advertising buyers.

Aiden, who has over 10 years’ industry experience spent in senior market research roles, says that during 2012, research will be increasingly integrated with Press Ahead’s broader marketing and PR services.

He commented: “We are ideally positioned to take an idea from inception, fully evaluate it and take away practical outputs that can then be integrated into business strategy and marketing activity, getting the best possible results for clients. We’ve got some really exciting projects in the pipeline and I look forward to significantly growing Press Ahead’s research division in 2012.”

Press Ahead managing director Russell Borthwick (pictured), believes that the launch of Press Ahead Creative and the expansion of the company’s research arm means the agency is strongly placed for further growth.

He said: “This is a really exciting time for Press Ahead. It was a natural progression for us to bring creative design services in-house to meet the demands of our existing clients and to strengthen our offering to potential new customers. Kieron is a welcome addition to the team, bringing a wealth of agency and in-house experience that will enable us to fully join up design with our wider marketing and PR services. Since strengthening our research credentials with Aiden’s appointment we’ve already seen some significant client wins from businesses and organisations looking for support with customer insight and strategic direction, and this continues to gain momentum. I hope that with both Kieron and Aiden on board we can continue to make inroads into a wide range of industry sectors and that Press Ahead will continue to go from strength to strength during 2012.”
