Albert Read appointed Deputy MD at Conde Nast

Albert Read has been promoted to Deputy Managing Director of Condé Nast Britain, it was announced yesterday by Nicholas Coleridge, President Condé Nast International and Managing Director Condé Nast Britain.

“I’ve worked with Albert Read (pictured) for a number of years, both in Britain and India. Combining an understanding of editorial with excellent business experience, Albert has demonstrated his wide-ranging talents and focus during an exciting period for Condé Nast, with print launches and continued investment in the digital space. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Albert as he takes on this additional responsibility, and Condé Nast maintains it position at the vanguard of quality publishing,” commented Nicholas Coleridge.

Albert Read adds: “I’m thrilled to be stepping up to this role at an important time in the development of the Condé Nast titles, where the increasing range of platforms available to us require new disciplines, and allow creative thinking about the way people interact with our brands.’

Appointed General Manager of Condé Nast Britain in 2006, with various responsibilities across the portfolio, Albert Read was previously Deputy Planning Director at Condé Nast International, as well as Business Director of Condé Nast Asia-Pacific, during which time he was involved in the company’s expansion into China.

As part of his remit as General Manager, Read has supervised the Contract Division, played a key role in all digital initiatives for Condé Nast Britain, and in the development of the Indian business, a market overseen by Nicholas Coleridge. Read was appointed Publishing Director of Wired in 2009.

Prior to joining Condé Nast International, Read worked in editorial roles at the Daily Mail and the Daily Express before completing an MBA at INSEAD.
