Bauer restructures sales force

Bauer Media UK has announced changes to its UK-wide sales force to provide its client and advertising partners with the best advertising solutions to access its 22 million UK consumers.

The new, future-facing Bauer Advertising set-up, borne out of a significant internal and external review, is to be coordinated around client and agency structures, says Bauer Media.

The functionally-aligned organisational design will see the creation of seven new teams to better reflect the needs of the market and provide an effective, unified approach for customers looking to connect with Bauer’s multi-platform brands across TV, online, radio, print and mobile.

The announcement follows the successful editorial and commercial launch of Bauer’s digital lifestyle brand for 20-something women, The Debrief, in February 2014 and the effective integration of Absolute Radio and its digital focused expertise into the wider Bauer Media business.

Bauer Advertising’s new structure sees a new leadership team and organisational set-up reporting into its Group Managing Director, Richard Dunmall, led by the following appointments:

Simon Kilby becomes Head of Marketplace. Simon joins from Absolute Radio where he has led the commercial team since joining as Commercial Director in 2012. Prior to Absolute Radio, Simon played a key part in the changes that transformed the Guardian’s commercial offering over the past decade. Simon and his team will have ownership of Bauer’s overall agency strategy, driving revenue and share across all Bauer platforms and brands.

Clare Chamberlain becomes Head of Creative and Brand Solutions. In this new position Clare will sell Bauer’s biggest brands whilst driving relationships, inspiring ideas and creative solutions to planners and leaders within agencies. Clare has already been at Bauer Media for two years in the role of Sales Director, London Lifestyle and has a wealth of senior experience across a range of media businesses.

Lucy Banks as Executive Creative Director, Bauer Media will continue to lead Bauer’s content marketing division and develop compelling, content-driven ideas and partnerships with key partners; pushing creative boundaries to build on customised, consumer-driven cross-platform success stories which have recently included the Go Think Big partnership with O2.

Rebecca Eaves moves from her current role as marketing consultant to become Commercial Marketing Director, where she will align Bauer Media‘s communications and manage their reputation in the market place. Rebecca is a highly experienced, talented and strategic marketer who has held senior roles within Bauer and other media businesses.

Kilby, Chamberlain and Eaves will transition into their new roles during April.

The new structure will also include three additional senior roles, which are currently being recruited for: Head of Client Development, Head of Creative Suite and Head of Operations.

Richard Dunmall, Group Managing Director, Advertising, Bauer Media UK, said: “We are one of the UK’s leading entertainment businesses, with our great brands and content reaching millions of consumers every day. The new sales structure set-up and its talented leadership team will now allow us to position ourselves as an impressively scaled, content and audience business to our comercial partners, delivering a refreshed, best-in-class service to our clients. It is a hugely exciting new chapter for our London Lifestyle and Radio advertising teams and we look forward to being more compelling to do business with.”
