Condé Nast launches House

Condé Nast has announced the launch of House, a sophisticated design, decoration, food and lifestyle site with all the authority of the House & Garden brand, live 13th March 2014.

House is a fully integrated collaboration between print and digital, combining House & Garden print editorial with original new content in the areas of design, food and travel, says Condé Nast.

Susan Crewe, Editor of House & Garden, comments, “A destination for readers of House & Garden and industry insiders, House will also appeal to the new breed of affluent interiors consumer, those who are digitally savvy, with a passion for Pinterest, design blogs and fashion magazines for inspiration.”

House has been created by the Easy Living web team (winners of the 2012 BSME Launch of the Year), and Easy Living content will now be incorporated on the new House site, designed using the popular grid-like layout and with easy to use navigation. The Easy Living website audience will be automatically redirected to House, providing an immediate unique user base of 192,216 (Nov 13 – Jan 14 Google Analytics), say the publishers.

Jamie Jouning, Digital Director, adds: “There appears to be a genuine gap in the marketplace for a website that delivers intelligent, sophisticated and inspirational writing on the increasingly pervasive verticals of design, interiors, food and travel. By taking the successful design approach of the Easy Living site, migrating all relevant existing content and adding new features and ideas from the House & Garden team we have a very strong brand proposition with an established, engaged and passionate audience from the get go.”

“House will become a new home for all those who regard their surroundings as a means of self-expression, in the same way they do their wardrobe, stylish entertaining or the food they cook,” added Kate Slesinger, Publishing Director of House & Garden.

With a new ABC of 120,008, House & Garden has increased UK subscriptions by 2.7% period on period, and is the pre-eminent quality magazine for design and decoration, says Condé Nast.
