Essentials publishes first interactive cover

Essentials, the lifestyle magazine featuring real women on its cover, is publishing its first interactive issue offering their readers the chance to star on the cover of their October issue.

Enabling consumers to ‘be a cover star’ by using Blippar technology, readers can download the free Blippar app and click on ‘be a cover star’ by hovering the app over the October Essentials cover and taking a photo of themselves. The image generated will feature the reader’s picture along with the magazine’s masthead to create a cover which can then be shared via Facebook and Twitter.

A first for Essentials, readers can directly buy products from the pages of the magazine. Any page that has a Blippar ‘B’ logo will come to life and all the products on the page will be available to purchase via the Blippar app.

Lucie Tobin, Essentials deputy editor says: “Our readers love new technology and Blippar is a really fun new app they'll enjoy. Not only can they buy the gorgeous items they see in the pages of Essentials, they can become a cover star too. We look forward to readers sending in their cover photos via Facebook and Twitter – after all, we're all about real women at Essentials!”

Publisher, Kate Mowatt adds: “Essentials is a place where real women are celebrated. We have a vibrant community of women all sharing their experiences & tips.
