Film Stories magazine, an independent film magazine, has announced it has given its upcoming front cover to 10 British indie films that will be coming out this year.

Film Stories magazine says its ethos from day one has been shining a big light on, and giving centre stage to, films and filmmakers that otherwise don’t get the front covers they deserve.

Issue 49 of the magazine gives 10 British independent films the front cover. Film Stories says its team will be digging into the stories behind those movies in the pages of the magazine too.

Just some of the exciting British films included in the issue are Swede Caroline, The Shamrock Spitfire, Chicken Town, Baltimore and These Are The Ones That Count, added Film Stories.

Film Stories was originally a podcast that was launched by Simon Brew in 2018. The publisher says it proved so popular that he spun it into several brand extensions, including a website and the magazine.

There’s more happening in the world of Film Stories, the publisher continued, with new UK Blu-ray releases, the first Film Stories film now in post-production, and a revamped website as well. Plus, the podcast that started it all has now attracted millions of downloads.

Simon Brew, editor and founder of Film Stories said “Since day one of Film Stories, I’ve been determined to give a platform to independent films and filmmakers, squeezed out amongst the world of superhero blockbusters. I’m thrilled that - against tremendous odds - indie filmmaking is thriving, and doubly thrilled to celebrate so much of it in our latest issue.”
