FT launches: Working It

The Financial Times has launched Working It, a weekly newsletter explaining the new world of work, from work and careers editor Isabel Berwick.

FT launches: Working It
Isabel Berwick: “The world of work has been upended and it’s never going back to its pre-pandemic ‘normal’.”

The Working It newsletter will help readers understand the new world of work, from the Great Resignation and diversity and inclusion to hybrid working, tips on career management and more. Podcast host Berwick will tackle a mix of current and perennial workplace issues and Working It will serve audiences from senior managers leading hundreds to those starting out in their careers.

With her popular podcast of the same name, Berwick has created an engaged and loyal following, says the FT. The Working It newsletter will give this audience a fresh way to access the FT’s work and careers content. Working It is the first joint newsletter and podcast from the FT, a reflection of the increased popularity in audio as an introduction to FT journalism.

The newsletter will include behind the scenes details of the free podcast and a preview of the following week’s topic. Readers will also find a welcoming community within the newsletter, say the publishers. Berwick and co-writer Sophia Smith in New York will regularly take on readers’ workplace questions and feature comments and feedback from subscribers.

Isabel Berwick said: “The world of work has been upended and it’s never going back to its pre-pandemic ‘normal’. Working It will help our readers navigate the ongoing uncertainty and keep ahead of the latest trends and shifts.”

The newsletter is available to standard FT subscribers and will be delivered at 5pm BST / 12pm ET Wednesdays beginning 6 April. You can find out more and sign up here.
