Future’s PC Format debuts premium mini-mag

Future, the special-interest media group, has revealed a new series of premium mini-magazines for its leading performance PC title, PC Format.

From issue 255, on sale 4th July, every issue of PC Format will come with a free 24-page mini-mag, each focusing on a key area of PC performance.

The series begins with The Ultimate Guide To Overclocking – showing readers how to get more speed, boost performance and save money on upgrades.

Upcoming mini-mags include How To Build Your Perfect PC, The Best Gaming Displays and Extreme Mobile Gaming.

Alan Dexter, Editor of PC Format, says: “These mini-mags enable us to focus in-depth on subjects that really matter to PC enthusiasts. Anyone looking to get the most from their PCs will find them an essential guide to each subject. Combined with the main magazine, it makes for an unbeatable, packed title.”

The new issue also sees PC Format go green, with weekly content packs (accessed via links from www.pcformat.com) replacing the monthly cover disc. Selected by the expert PC Format team, the packs save readers time, effort and money by packaging together the best software, games, utilities, demos and links – the moment they become available, says Future.

This issue reveals the next generation of solid state drives, gets exclusively hands-on with Windows 8 and packs in a bumper 51 pages of reviews.

Ian Robson, Publisher of PC Format, says: “The appetite for best in class PC entertainment and gaming has never been greater, with innovation and excitement around 3D, mobile computing and PC gaming contributing to one of the greatest years for the PC platform ever.

“With so much going on, it made complete sense to deliver even more discerning content for the PC Format reader, with the focussed nature of these mini-mags ensuring that we can really get to the nuts and bolts of what matters most.”

The new issue of PC Format hits newsstands on Monday 4th July, priced £5.99.
