HELLO! moves to Monday publication

HELLO! Magazine have announced that from 1st June they are moving their publication day to a Monday. The publishers say that this is a radical change which is set to completely rock the weekly magazine market.

This move, says the publisher, marks a historic change of direction in publishing as HELLO! will be the first magazine in over 50 years to penetrate the market in this way, and move their on sale date from a Tuesday. HELLO! have agreed a partnership with Associated Newspapers, which will enable the title to speed up the production process and allow the magazine to be on shelves a day earlier than competitive titles.

This significant milestone comes, continues the publisher, as HELLO! celebrates its 21st year as the original celebrity weekly and this move will help accentuate its position as a forward-thinking, upmarket society publication.

Publishing Director Charlotte Stockting has been the driving force behind this change, and states that it has always been her ‘vision’ to establish faster production and for the magazine to ‘hit the shelves’ before any other title.

“Despite the current financial climate, celebrity magazines are bucking the trend and are actually on the up. Therefore we have been under no illusions about increased competition in the weekly marketplace”, states Charlotte.

“It will be a major advantage for HELLO! to be on sale on a Monday from both a consumer and commercial perspective. Our readers want to be constantly kept up to date with the latest news and exclusives from society’s A-List and so this move will further enhance the credibility of HELLO! as the premier celebrity weekly. From a commercial perspective this change will also have a major impact on our readership figures and will give our advertisers over 20% more exposure.”
