Your Home is one of the country’s biggest-selling home interest titles. Mel Sherwood has worked in consumer magazines across multiple sectors, from weddings to interiors via craft and history, and has been Editor of Homes & Antiques since 2018. She succeeds Anna-Lisa De’Ath who has been editor since 2008.
Mel Sherwood says: “I am thrilled to join the team at Your Home. Interiors have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember – as a child, I adored shows like Changing Rooms, and would rearrange my bedroom furniture every weekend. I don’t mind revealing that I had my first interior design disaster at the age of 12, when I painted my room lime green! If only I could tell that colour-obsessed girl that one day she would be editor of such a magazine as Your Home – it really is a dream come true. I am so looking forward to getting to know the team and all our talented contributors – albeit virtually, for now – and to leading the magazine along the next phase of its journey. It feels strange to take over a brand at a time like this, but I am delighted that I might be able to help our readers improve their homes while we are all spending so much time in them. And to advise, thanks to my first-hand experience, that lime green really is a very challenging colour to live with…”
Anna-Lisa De’Ath says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed being at the helm of Your Home over the past 12 years. It is a fantastic brand with a wonderful, loyal readership, however I feel the time is now right to focus my attention on other projects. I wish Mel every success in her new role.”
Marie Davies, Managing Director, Specialist, added: “I am delighted to continue working with Mel as she moves onto Your Home magazine. Mel has a superb eye for interior design and a clear passion for creating outstanding content for our audiences. Your Home is very much a jewel in our crown with a considerable circulation in the home interest sector, and I am looking forward to working with Mel as we reach new markets through our focussed digital and subscriptions strategy. Anna-Lisa De’Ath will continue working with us on HomeStyle and other projects over the coming months and I would like to thank Anna-Lisa for her continued support and direction as we make a smooth transition of editorial leadership.”
Mel will be in post from Monday 27th April reporting to Marie Davies, Managing Director, Specialist.
