The raft of hires include Brendan Cole, who joins as Night Editor; Matt Atherton, Science and Health Reporter; as well as two news sports reporters - George Flood and Joshua Evans; three new reporters - James Tennent, Paul Wright, and Harriet Sinclair; and Alex Wheeler, who joins as Picture Assistant.
All will be based out of IBT Media’s growing newsroom in London’s Canary Wharf.

Brendan Cole, IB Times UK’s new Night Editor, is a multi-lingual journalist who has worked across radio, online and TV. He has an MA in politics and history from Birkbeck University in London and has worked for the BBC, Channel 4 News, ITN and Al Jazeera.
Matt Atherton, Science and Health Reporter, has an MA in Science Journalism with merit from London’s City University and has had work published in the Daily Mail, The Independent, Sky News and The Times.
George Flood and Joshua Evans, who join as sports reporters, both have a BA in sports journalism. Flood has already been working for the European headquarters of IB Times and was shortlisted for an NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) award, whilst Evans was most recently online sports writer at The Mirror.
News reporters James Tennent, Paul Wright and Harriet Sinclair have degrees in Arabic, Middle East Studies and Politics respectively. Wright also has an MA in newspaper journalism from City University, while Tennent was shortlisted for the Guardian Student Media Award’s
Feature Writer of the Year in 2014 and Sinclair has had considerable success in her most recent role as reporter on the Essex Chronicle, says International Business Times.
Meanwhile, IB Times UK’s new picture assistant, Alex Wheeler boasts a first class honours degree in photography from the London College of Communication and has worked for The Telegraph, The Independent and IMG Studios.
