IPC Weeklies simplifies team structure

IPC Weeklies group advertising director Kate MacKenzie has announced two key changes to the structure of the IPC Weeklies advertising team, bringing trading across all the brands in the IPC Connect and TX portfolios under one advertising director for the first time.

Matt Downs (pictured with Kate MacKenzie - middle, and Lindsay Dean), currently advertising director across the Core Weeklies group – including What’s on TV, TV easy, TVTimes, TV & Satellite Week, Soaplife, Woman, Woman’s Own, Woman’s Weekly, Chat and Pick Me Up – will take additional management responsibility for celebrity and fashion titles Now and Look. Matt will continue to report into Kate.

Meanwhile, acting advertising manager for Now and Look, Lindsay Dean, will take on the role permanently, reporting directly to Matt.

Kate says: “This restructure is strategically designed to provide our agencies and client partners with clear points of access across our fantastic brands. Matt – a previous publisher on InStyle – has a wealth of experience in the fashion and beauty arena, and will provide strategic direction and support to the Now and Look teams.”

Matt has broad experience across IPC's core markets, including a spell as publisher role on InStyle within IPC Southbank. Matt was then named director of IPC Corporate Key Accounts in 2005, joining the newly formed IPC Weeklies advertising group in 2006 as trading director across 10 weekly titles within IPC TX and IPC Connect. In 2007 he also took on responsibility for the IPC Weeklies Business Development team.

Lindsay joined IPC Weeklies overseeing the Now and Look advertising teams last year, as maternity cover. Prior to this she spent six years at eve magazine, the latter three years as advertising manager on the women’s monthly. Previously she worked at IPC Southbank on brands including woman&home and essentials.

Kate adds: “Lindsay has fantastic experience in the women’s market, and brilliant credentials in fashion and beauty, so it’s great to welcome her to the team on a permanent basis! In the new structure the Now and Look client and agency teams will continue to provide a dedicated service for our commercial partners.”

The new structure creates three core teams within IPC Weeklies: Trading & Business Development under advertising director Matt Downs; Creative Solutions under head of Creative Solutions Donia Dacey; and Digital under Digital advertising director Darren Davidson. Matt, Donia and Darren all report directly to IPC Weeklies group advertising director Kate Mackenzie.
