James Thrower is new publisher of Nuts

IPC Inspire Men & Music has announced two senior appointments to the publishing team for Nuts and www.mousebreaker.com.

James Thrower (pictured), currently associate publisher of IPC Inspire Men & Music’s casual games website www.mousebreaker.com, is promoted to publisher of Nuts and Mousebreaker. Meanwhile Sam Wight, currently digital marketing manager on Nuts and Mousebreaker, is promoted to senior marketing manager for the two titles. Both James and Sam will report direct to Jo Smalley, publishing director of Nuts and Mousebreaker.

Jo says: “James and Sam have already established themselves as significant talents within the Inspire Men & Music portfolio. Nuts has been number one since day one in the men’s weekly sector, and Mousebreaker is the leading British-based casual games website. It’s a pleasure to appoint both individuals into these senior roles, and I very much look forward to working with them to take our great brands forward into an exciting 2011.”

James says: “Nuts is one of the most powerful brands in UK media, and accounts for one in every two men’s lifestyle magazines sold on the UK newsstand. The opportunity to step into the publisher role on such an iconic brand was simply irresistible; and the obvious synergies between Nuts and Mousebreaker make for a hugely exciting opportunity.”

Sam adds: “Nuts is a brilliant example of a brand communicating with its audience across multiple touch points, all perfectly aligned to that audience. Both Nuts and Mousebreaker are renowned for their innovative marketing agendas and I’m really excited at the prospect of working with the brand team to take both to the next level!

Sam takes up her new role with immediate effect, while James starts on 31st January.
