Livingetc publishes interactive issue

Livingetc, the modern homes title, has published an interactive issue; bringing the magazine’s pages to life like never before and marking a first in the interiors magazine market, say the publishers.

Encompassing both editorial and advertising pages, the interactive issue uses augmented reality technology, powered by Sayduck, which allows readers to see products in their own homes. They can also click-to-buy, watch video and view picture galleries.

To access the interactive content, readers download the Sayduck app to their smartphone or tablet and then scan any page that features a special yellow icon.

Advertisers with interactive display pages include Heal’s, John Lewis, Sofa.com and Debenhams, among many others. The ads allow readers to bring the retailers’ furniture and accessories to life in 3D, and then see how they would work in their own interiors schemes.

Livingetc’s interactive issue is published following the release of The Furniture Report by IPC Media. The research found that while consumers enjoy the purchase journey – from researching dream interiors in magazines through to making a day of the shopping trip – they often struggle to visualise how furniture will work at home.

Suzanne Imre, editor of Livingetc, says: “We have had such a good time working on this interactive issue. Our readers are going to love the extra content, especially the 3D products which they can see in their living rooms! It’s brilliant to see Livingetc’s world leaping off the page.”
