Local World appoints Digital Content Director

Steve Anglesey has been appointed Digital Content Director for Local World.

Steve has been Trinity Mirror's Head of Digital Business Development, developing the company's video strategy and working with humour/interactive games site UsVsTh3m to develop sponsored content for brands including Confused.com and Blinkbox.

At Trinity Mirror as publisher of MirrorOnline he helped double monthly audience to 42million unique users in a year and created a programme of rapid digital editorial expansion, says Local World.

Steve’s wealth of experience includes; editor of MirrorOnline, one of the co-founders of the MirrorFootball site and social feeds and a weekly football humour column for the daily Mirror newspaper which ran for 13 years. Previously he was editor of the pioneering football website Football365.

He said: "I am delighted to be joining Local World, a company with tremendous assets in terms of people and titles, at such an exciting time. We are looking forward to producing and working with content which users will love to watch, read and share."

Steve joined Local World yesterday and will report into Matt Kelly.
