London24 nets media deal with UK's largest basketball team

Community website, London24.com and the British Basketball League's largest club, London Lions, have joined forces to create the league’s first regional media partnership.

The Archant London campaign will provide exclusive inside coverage of the London Lions, their games, giveaways and special competitions for London's ever-growing number of basketball fans.

The partnership, negotiated between the Archant London marketing team and Lions includes an integrated media solution with branding throughout the Copper Box Arena, the Lions’ new home at the Olympic Park, on-air broadcast, online and in print with Archant London's portfolio of 17 local titles.

London24.com will host a range of competitions to win a number of prizes from VIP courtside box seat tickets to a full coaching session with the team at the Copper Box Arena.

Archant London's Head of Marketing, Steve Fenton, said: “Partnering with the London Lions brings many benefits including brand exposure and exclusive quality content to our audience.

“In addition it provides yet another channel to continue our important engagement with London communities in a relevant and meaningful way. A key focus is the investment into future generations of Londoners as the Lions are about to launch the excellent “Hoops for Health” programme into schools throughout the Olympic boroughs and we are very keen to play a very active part in this project.

Vince Macaulay, Head Coach and Manager of London Lions, added: “London24 has signalled its support for basketball as a whole and the London Lions in particular. This is the largest media engagement programme in basketball and it will benefit our fans, our sponsors and all involved in basketball as we strive to continue to provide fantastic sporting engagement in the most famous sports destination in the world right now.”
