Lucie Cave appointed Acting Editor, heat

Lucie Cave is to step up as Acting Editor of celebrity weekly heat from January 2011.

She will replace Sam Delaney who is leaving heat to publish his third book and work on a new television show for Comedy Central.

Lucie (pictured), who is Executive Editor, will report into heat's MD Sophie Wybrew-Bond, who commented: "Lucie Cave is a huge talent who has become an invaluable member of the heat team over the past seven years, as a broadcaster, writer and senior editor."

Sam is a widely respected editor, writer and broadcaster and in his time at the helm oversaw some of heat's most memorable issues and campaigns, says Bauer.

Sam added: "I have been honoured and privileged to edit such a great magazine and work with the best editorial team in the business. I've enjoyed every minute but these new opportunities are too exciting to turn down. I wish heat every success in the future and leave it in the supremely talented hands of Lucie Cave."

Lucie started her career as one of the popular faces of youth channel Trouble - hosting various live shows and honing her interviewing skills on the likes of Robbie Williams, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Gwyneth Paltrow. Her background in journalism then led to a return to writing and she was snapped up by heat magazine in 2003 where she's worked her way up from Deputy News Editor, through to Features Editor and Executive Editor - nurturing her contacts in the showbiz world to ensure heat maintains its reputation for unparalleled celebrity access and compelling, funny and agenda-setting features. Alongside her magazine duties Lucie has become a popular media pundit and a regular face on many popular TV shows as both a commentator and host. She also presents a weekly three hour entertainment show every Saturday on Heat Radio and has written several books including ghost-writing the number one bestseller Jade Goody: My Autobiography.
