McCarthy & Stone appoint River to magazine task

River has announced their appointment through a competitive pitch to the publishing task for ‘Life & Living’ magazine for McCarthy & Stone Retirement Lifestyles.

McCarthy & Stone are the UK’s largest retirement home builder with over 100 developments currently under construction and have been building award winning retirement apartments for over 30 years.

Executive Director Ali Crossley says: “we are very pleased to be working with River on this important project for us. We have big plans for 2012 as we reposition the McCarthy & Stone brand to support the broader range of needs affecting older people, particularly around financial services and living accommodation.”

River will publish their first issue of the quarterly Life & Living which will be sent out to prospective residents, current residents and distributed via trade fairs and events in March 2012. The print edition will be accompanied by a digital edition available online via the McCarthy & Stone website and at Apple’s newsstand for iPad.

Of the digital edition Natasha Jackson River’s Head of Digital says: “older consumers are becoming increasingly technology literate and McCarthy & Stone’s digital edition of Life & Living responds both to the needs of their current and future consumers. We believe that content should be available to customers regardless of channel, whenever they need it and this strategy is entirely aligned with that.”
