Media 10 launches new interactive Grand Designs Magazine

Privately owned publishing and events company Media 10 Ltd has launched a new, interactive digital edition of Grand Designs Magazine specifically for the iPad.

Grand Designs was one of the first home-interest magazines to launch a digital pdf version in 2012, and has already generated a significant digital audience and subscription base, says Media 10.

Media 10 chose digital platform provider Mag+ to create its brand-new, interactive digital experience for its readers, offering features “beyond that of any other contemporary homes magazine”.

New features include:

* 360° panoramic room tours

* 3D computer-generated houses

* Animated adverts

* Embedded video content

* Bonus interactive galleries

* Content pop-ups

* Vertical and horizontal navigation

* Panoramic landscape images

Each monthly interactive edition includes up to 25% extra content over the printed version and is sold through the AppStore at the same cover price of £3.99 for a single issue. Six and twelve-month subscriptions are also available to purchase through the App.

Justin Levett, Publishing Director, states: “As one of Channel 4’s longest-running and highest-rating TV shows, Grand Designs has been synonymous with cutting-edge house design and innovation. As publishers of the print edition for over ten years, we wanted to ensure our new interactive version remained true to this brand characteristic.”

Marc Hertog, CEO of Apptitude Studio, states: “We are delighted to have worked with Grand Designs magazine to help bring it to life on the Mag+ platform. The forward-thinking Media 10 team has taken its previously flat replica and applied just the right amount of interactive elements to create a really compelling digital version of the magazine. We are at the beginning of the biggest change to how people consume content in a generation, and it is innovation like this that will encourage adoption by both readers and advertisers."
