Melanie Stark is new editor of Logistics & Transport Focus

Melanie Stark, formerly Content Team Leader at The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport has taken over as Editor of the Institute’s journal, Logistics & Transport Focus, and as PR Manager for the Institute.

Melanie takes the hot seat from David Jinks MILT who is leaving the Institute, after a decade as Publisher and PR Manager, to become Head of PR and Publications at international couriers ParcelHero.com.

Melanie, who joined CILT a year ago, formerly worked in the music industry as a writer and PR manager and for the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs, Malta, preparing a governmental report on climate change.

She says: “I’m really looking forward to this new challenge. Logistics and our transport infrastructure are at the very heart of society and vital to the growth of our economy. I can’t think of a more exciting industry to be in today, and the Institute’s journal, Logistics & Transport Focus, is the most popular and widely respected publication covering all modes of travel and supply chain developments.”

David says: “I’ve hugely enjoyed my ten years at the Institute, and I’m very proud of the work of CILT and my part in growing its reputation within the profession, with government and the public at large. I’m looking forward to developing my PR career in the international logistics field. ParcelHero is a young and vibrant company and has already established a strong reputation.”

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is the independent international professional body for individuals and companies associated with logistics and transport. It has over 33,000 members in over 31 countries worldwide.
