Metro restructures commercial team

Metro has undergone a significant restructure in its commercial team, to support a greater understanding of clients’ entire businesses, from strategy through to investment.

Story, Metro’s in-house creative agency, will now consist of eight Strategic Sales Managers who will focus on deeper conversations with all departments within media agencies and the brands they look after. They will be managed by Head of Agency, Jo Mazenko and Head of Client, Tracy Stanton. Many of the existing team who were previously Account Managers or Partnership Managers are making the transition to become Strategic Sales Managers, whilst Metro also looks to recruit new salespeople to these roles.

The reorganised commercial structure will allow Metro greater visibility within the market place, whilst a dedicated office-based trading team led by Trading Manager, Patrick Kinnear, is being formed to ensure advertising clients can still contact Metro at any time, say the publishers.

A creative strategy team will focus on ideas and production offerings within Story, working ever more closely with the editorial team to establish long term content partnerships. Head of Publishing, Lucy Hartley, will be leading this department.

David Vokes, in the new position of Sales Director, will oversee the newly-created team whilst continuing to report into Creative Director, Sophie Robinson and Trading Director, Grant Woodthorpe.

Vokes said: “We pride ourselves here at Metro on providing our clients with the best possible advertising solutions and service. The best relationships with agencies and brands are born from greater understanding the complexities of modern marketing strategies and we are going to achieve this by joining up all the conversations and creating a full 360 degree service. The team will have a mixture of experience and ideas, allowing us to understand brands better, maximise mutual opportunities and deliver accessibility to all Metro platforms. We couldn’t be more excited about our fresh approach and the opportunity to work closer with new and existing clients.”
