More magazine choice for Cruise passengers

Five lifestyle titles are taking advantage of the magazine placement service at the cruise terminals across the UK and Eurotunnel’s premier service, Flexi-Plus.

Living Abroad, Jamie Magazine, Lonely Planet, Caribbean Property Investor and Sports Boat & Rib magazine, all have individual placement strategies to ensure uptake to their core readership audience.

D and G Media, specialists in experiential and monitored free distribution at the UK’s cruise terminals, Eurotunnel and the Isle of Wight ferry terminal used their icruise database to only target cruise ships that reflect magazine content and audience profiles respectively.

As well as being in the cruise terminal lounge, Caribbean Property Investor magazine is being placed onboard cruise ships that only sail to the Caribbean. Lonely Planet will target those cruise ships where the audience are predominantly ‘explorers’ who are looking for untailored onshore experiences.  And finally, Jamie magazine will be placed in the cruise terminals and onboard ships where the high standard of cuisine is paramount.

Sports Boat & Rib is covering some cruise ships but mainly at Eurotunnel’s Flexi-Lounge.

Says, Damian Gevertz (pictured), Managing Director of D and G Media: “The UK cruise market provides publishers with the opportunity to engage with new readers who can be targeted by the type of lifestyle and/or destination cruise experience.

Size of cruise ship, cuisine, lectures, destination, service and accommodation, workshops, and leisure facilities are all values we use to get the closest possible match to the magazine’s readership profile.

With more no-fly cruises set to increase by 20% next year, cruise holidays from the UK will be a very valuable environment as it will take considerable market share from the traditional fly holidays.”
