Alongside the monthly edition, Motor Sport Magazine offers special bookazines and supplements that will be available via the app.
Motor Sport Magazine says it has been working to enhance users’ experience in recent months. The result of which means the digital magazine will not only continue to be augmented with app-only video and interactive content but also be available through all major app distribution channels, including the ever-growing mobile market.
One of the newest developments of the app is the news feed, which brings the day's major news stories from the website into the app. This means the app is now continuous as well as edition based.
Also included is search functionality that enables readers to find exactly what they are looking for within each issue.
Having listened to reader’ feedback, say the publishers, returning to the app will be the scrapbook function for the ability to create a collection of favourite articles. The app is smarter, too, meaning it always returns to the most recent magazine page.
Gerard O’Brien, Marketing Director for Motor Sport Magazine said: “I’m delighted to offer our readers an enhanced digital reading experience. Our audience is consuming our content across a wide range of platforms and it’s great to be able to offer another channel to our award-winning digital magazine. By making each monthly edition available on mobile and web for the first time, it allows readers to enjoy each edition more easily and engage with the brand in a whole new way.
“We want to ensure that motor sport fans all over the world discover us and have the chance to consume our award-winning digital magazine via the channel they want.
“It’s been great working with Kaldor, who have really helped shape and execute our plans. Pugpig’s ‘create once publish everywhere’ philosophy means the magazine can now create a beautiful interactive app that render across all devices and screen sizes in one simple step.”
Jonny Kaldor, CEO and co-founder, Pugpig said: “We’re thrilled to get Motor Sport magazine onto the Pugpig platform, and this launch is particularly exciting for us as it’s the first to use our dual-publishing model which support both editions and continuous publishing all from within the same app. This is particularly useful in sport, where readers expect access to content as events unfold, but also want that cover to cover reading experience.”
