News UK launches Startup Lab

News UK is launching a new initiative to identify and develop some of Britain’s best startup businesses.

The News UK Startup Lab will take up to six small companies and host them in a month-long incubator programme, based at video ad tech company Unruly, to help develop new thinking, new ways of working and find new revenue streams for our company and theirs, says the publisher.

The scheme is specifically looking for startups that can benefit from linking up with News UK – leveraging our journalism, our data, our products and our expertise.

Product innovation company Fluxx, who have experience in setting up corporate start-up accelerators and working with News UK, will run and staff this programme.

The focus for the chosen companies is to work together to use our combined assets to generate more value for them, News UK and our audiences. This will mean providing insight as well as hands-on mentoring and expertise.

Applications open on August 7 and close on September 14. The incubation period runs from October 9- November 3.
