PCS appoints Mark Wilkinson

PCS has appointed a new Business Development Manager to drive the company forward into new market sectors and geographies.

The Midlands-based publishing software developer has a long track record of supplying the UK’s national and regional newspaper industry, but is now exploring opportunities further from home – particularly around its digital content management and publishing system, Knowledge.

Business Development Manager Mark Wilkinson’s focus will be on improving relationships with magazine groups and among corporate, catalogue and educational publishers, in Europe as well as in the UK.

The 37-year-old from Leamington, Warwickshire, worked most recently as an EMEA partner manager for Microsoft’s Authorised Refurbisher programme, so while the move into the publishing software sector represents something of a change, his objectives are familiar.

Mark (pictured) believes his experience working with partners across on the Continent makes his move to PCS at this time a good fit. He will be promoting the benefits of Knowledge in creating workflow efficiencies, making savings in time and cost and in the way it handles important industry concerns such as rights management.

He says:  “I think the PCS product set is incredibly strong and rich and the management team is committed to making sure it is best of breed.”

“My job is to build on the way Knowledge as a product has been promoted to newspapers and bring it more into the magazine sector,” he says. “I want to network with key publishers and industry associations in the marketplace, not just in the UK, but in Europe, too. Looking for European-based customers will be my focus for the next six to nine months.”

Welcoming the appointment, PCS Managing Director, Phil Walker, said: “Mark brings to PCS a solid background of building and developing customer partnerships for a major corporation, not only in the UK but Europe and beyond, too.

“We believe Mark’s experience will help us to further our ambitions of taking PCS’s products to new markets and new geographies in what should be exciting times ahead.”
