Polestar wins new Associated contract

Polestar has secured a new five-year contract with Associated Newspapers for the production of the publisher’s weekend supplements.

Polestar will continue to print Weekend magazine for Saturday’s Daily Mail at its web offset companies, Polestar Petty and Polestar Colchester, with The Mail on Sunday supplements, Live and You Magazine, printed gravure at Polestar Sheffield. Polybagging of the Sunday supplements is also carried out at Polestar Sheffield.

The original contract between the two organisations began in June 2005, although a long term relationship started several years earlier, with the production of a previous supplement, Night and Day.

John Bird, Managing Director of Harmsworth Printing Ltd, says: "The extending of this contract demonstrates our continuing confidence in Polestar to deliver quality products to the demanding schedules required by our national titles."

Polestar Chief Executive Barry Hibbert adds:"For the last five years, we have been printing over seven million magazines each week for Associated Newspapers and it is this reliability of performance and our ability to meet their changing needs and requirements that have undoubtedly contributed to our success in renewing our contract. We are delighted to be extending our partnership with them."
