PPA announces line-up for RE_INVENTED

The Professional Publishers Association (PPA) has announced details of its RE_INVENTED// conference, taking place on May 22, 2014 at B1 Location House, a fresh event space in Central London.

The one-day event combines three streams – The Big Picture, The Bottom Line and The Buzz - to explore the strategies, technologies and people that are instrumental in the evolution of today’s influential magazine brands.

It features interviews, discussions, live demos, and seminars with the most influential voices and brands from the worlds of publishing, advertising, digital and technology, says the PPA.

The Big Picture

The Big Picture is a collection of big-name interviews, entertaining keynotes, and innovative sessions looking at the broader social, cultural, and technological influences shaping the publishing world. Highlights include:

* VIEW FROM THE TOP 3.0 - featuring the newest magazine media CEOs on the block, including IPC Media CEO Marcus Rich, Centaur Media CEO Andria Vidler, EMAP CEO Natasha Christie-Miller and Immediate Media CEO Tom Bureau.

* MAGAZINES MADE ME – where two of the NME’s most famous alumni - Tony Parsons and Mark Ellen - come together to talk about their extraordinary lives and times in magazines, as well as their new books.

* AN INTERVIEW WITH . . . STELLA CREASY MP sees Stylist Editor Lisa Smosarski interview the Shadow Minister for Competition and Consumer Affairs about her life, career, and recent experience of the media spotlight.

* THE MARCUS MORRIS LECTURE - Ellis Watson, Chief Executive of DC Thomson, and former global CEO of Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment, gives the inaugural Marcus Morris Lecture.

* AN INTERVIEW WITH. . . JAMIE CULLUM - the award-winning singer-songwriter and first-time magazine Publisher talks about his career and the story behind his new magazine, The Eighty-Eight, with Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief Louise Court.

The Bottom Line

The Bottom Line stream investigates the business of publishing with case studies and discussions around latest trends, insights, and innovations in the publishing world. Sessions will look into:

* How magazine media content connects advertisers and engaged audiences

* The new multi-platform territories being chartered by forward-thinking magazine brands

* Consumers’ increasing appetite for video content and its potential to generate ROI

* Innovative developments from major publishers adopting a mobile-first mindset

* Celebrating the influence of print in light of major recent launches

The Buzz

The Buzz is a more intimate and interactive stream that will give delegates the chance to hear from content creators and visionary brands through a series of live workshops and demos.
