Prima Baby offers finance and legal advice

The National Magazine Company’s monthly baby and pregnancy title, Prima Baby, claims to be the first in its sector to hire new experts to advise its readers on family finance and maternity law.

Starting with the July issue, on sale now, new contributors Jasmine Birtles, a family finance expert, and Joanna Robson, a maternity law specialist, have joined Prima Baby’s nine-strong advisory panel. Chosen to reflect the concerns of modern mums and mums-to-be, they join current contributors including leading midwives, health specialists, and another new addition Clare Byam-Cook, a renowned breastfeeding counsellor. The title claims to be the only magazine in the baby and pregnancy sector to include financial and law experts specifically for new mums.

As well as recruiting the UK top baby experts, Prima Baby’s new look embraces a calmer colour palette and a more contemporary approach to fonts and photography. Editorially, the title will also include more real-life stories to strengthen a dimension that’s not currently available to new mums and mums-to-be online.

Elaine Griffiths, Editor, Prima Baby, says: “The concerns of new mums and mums-to-be are constantly changing with the world around them, and in the current economic climate, we’ve seen a big increase in the need for advice on finances and legal rights relating to maternity entitlement. Prima Baby is responding to its readers’ needs and is proud to offer up-to-the-minute advice on the new issues affecting them, alongside our heritage of traditional, time-tested parenting advice.”

Matt Salmon, Publishing Director, Prima Baby, says: “The UK birth rate is up and pregnant women and new mothers are as hungry for information as ever. However, with a raft of core information readily available online, including on our own successful website Babyexpert.com, it’s even more crucial that the magazine offers compelling, exclusive content and strong visual appeal.”
