Publishing Expo boasts record visitor numbers

Publishing Expo 2012 reports 9% pure visitor growth, a cumulative growth of 19% in 2 years under UBM.

Publishing Expo took place on 28 and 29 February at Earls Court 2. Over the two days, professionals from across all forms of publishing attended the  event. The showfloor was packed, says UBM, with visitors eager to source the latest solutions in the rapidly-evolving world of published media. The all-new content programme which featured a brand new Keynote line-up and show features proved immensely popular.

Group Event Manager Natasha Berrow explained: “In our second year of running Publishing Expo we wanted to do things a little differently. We knew there was a strong demand for superior-quality content so we launched a brand new Keynote Programme at the show and a number of brand new features designed to meet the needs of Publishers today: including the Cloud Computing Pavilion, an Email Marketing Centre, the Publishers’ Hub, and the Networking Bar. The industry responded as we hoped they would, with over 5 and a half thousand* professionals visiting the show over just two days.”

Under the ownership of UBM, Publishing Expo has been injected with a wealth of new features, new content, a move to a new and larger venue at Earls Court 2, and re-positioned and branded as focusing as much on the new digital channels for publishing alongside traditional print. The results of this two-year rejuvenation are clear: 19% pure visitor increase over the last two years.

The decision to run Publishing Expo alongside the UK’s biggest marketing event, Technology For Marketing & Advertising, has brought enhanced benefits to both visitors and exhibitors, says UBM. For visitors looking for inspiration on how to promote and grow audience reach TFM&A claims to offer the biggest line-up of suppliers and education in the UK; for exhibitors the co-location provides over 3,000 additional relevant and focused potential buyers coming to Publishing Expo.

This impressive growth at Publishing Expo and the attraction of so many relevant and senior-level decision-makers to the event, was reflected in the rush to re-book stands by the exhibitors. Publishing Expo reported a 65% re-booking rate on 2012 stand space.
