Southernprint retains Egmont printing contract

Southernprint has announced the successful retention of the Egmont printing contract following an invitation to tender process.

The £2 million deal includes 16 regular magazines including weekly and fortnightly titles, as well as a number of ad hoc products.

Egmont is one of the UK’s top specialist children’s publisher of books and magazines and is part of the Egmont Group, Scandinavia's leading media group. Its publications include Dora the Explorer, Ben 10, Thomas & Friends, Barbie, Go Girl and Toxic with sales of around 12 million magazines a year.

The 16 titles are produced at Southernprint’s web offset printing plant in Poole, Dorset. The Egmont editorial and production teams upload files and approve pages online using the Prinergy workflow, and the titles are printed on Southernprint’s latest high speed web presses and finishing equipment.

Sarah Colley, Production manager, Egmont UK said: “Quality and professional service are very important to Egmont and Southernprint’s consistent print quality, excellent time-keeping and supportive customer services team all played a part in our decision to renew our magazine printing contract.”

Lee Godwin, Southernprint Sales Director said: “We are delighted that Egmont has renewed its printing contract. The Southernprint team has developed a really strong relationship with Egmont producing consistently high quality products week after week and the renewal of the contract is testament to this.”
