Stationers' Company honours Ian Locks

The Stationers’ Company has awarded its prestigious Silver Medal to Ian Locks, former CEO of the Professional Publishers Association.

On Tuesday, 24 May 2011, at its Court Spring Dinner, the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers honoured Ian Locks with the award of its prestigious Silver Medal. This medal is the highest award that the Company can bestow and is given to members who have performed exceptionally over a long period, normally both within the Company and within the Communications and Content industries.

Ian Locks (pictured on the right), former CEO of the Professional Publishers Association has been a Member of the Company for 20 years and has served on, and Chaired a number of committees and is currently working to deliver the Shine2011 School Media Awards. He was also the joint lead of the highly successful ‘Copyright in the Digital Age’ event at Stationers’ Hall last November along with its website, and publication.

In presenting Ian with his medal Christopher McKane (pictured on the left), Master of the Stationers’ Company, said “Ian’s services to the Company have already been outstanding and he still has two big projects on the go. I find it hard to think of a member of the Company who has contributed more”. On receiving the award Ian Locks said that it was a great privilege in life to have the opportunity to make things happen - and that for him had been an important part of the fun of doing his bit for the Company.
