Stuff to launch in Cambodia

Haymarket’s Stuff is to debut in Cambodia, becoming the first international media brand to enter the Cambodian market.

The popular consumer technology title, published in 30 countries, will serve the interests of a growing affluent Cambodian middle class who have a keen interest in technology and high-value lifestyle items.

The title will be published under licence by Southeastern Globe Communications, a Phnom Penh-based publishing group.

Alastair Lewis, International Director at Haymarket says: “We’re absolutely delighted that Stuff is the first international media brand to be published in Cambodia. The team at Southeastern Globe have demonstrated a great understanding of the Stuff brand and their knowledge of the market will, I’m sure, result in a strong product for audience and clients alike. We look forward to working closely with them over the coming years.”

Tassilo Brinzer, the magazine’s publisher, described the growth of the market as an “exciting journey”, and pointed to continued growth in interest around technological devices across the region.

Brinzer says: “Since we started talks with Haymarket over a year ago on launching Stuff in Cambodia, we met with Stuff publishers in Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand and were excited to see that they are all seeing a similar development - Southeast Asians love tech and gadgets.”

The magazine will initially print 6,000 copies at a promotional price of $2.25 and it will then be distributed at $2.75.

Stuff had a successful launch in Myanmar in 2013, as well as a flourishing re-launch in Singapore, says Haymarket.
